Oh, don't think I'm anti-immigrant. My in-laws immigrated from Cuba. They love this country more than me. They CHOSE to leave their country and come here. I was just born here. They've worked hard and done exactly what you mentioned - sent both daughters to college (and grad school).

I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about refugees who have nothing and no prospects for anything.

However, if we can somehow prove (not "prove", but have a reasonable certainty) that they would cease being wards of the state in short order and become productive members of society, then I'm all for it.

My overarching point is that we don't need to import freeloaders. We have plenty.
