How will bombing Assad save lives? Just answer that question. Will it end the Civil War? Will it return the refugees? Will it result in a better government? Or will it simply insure that Syria is perpetually f**k with by foreign elements, whether Israel, Iran, America, Russia or Saudi Arabia?

What is the end game? You can't claim humanitarian intervention without a specific goal... and if your goal is to ensure that Syrians are only slaughtered with just guns and artillery and tanks, but not chemicals... lol.

Mali was boots on the ground, Libya was an internationally supported no-fly zone. They are utterly different than Syria.

A limited military strike will not end Assad's rule or the civil war. He is currently winning the war. The loss of his chemical weapons will have almost zero impact on his ability to wage war. The loss of the military units who deliver them may have a momentary impact, but this will be offset by the massive military aid and intelligence that Russia will and is providing. The units to be destroyed are primarily mobile artillery - he will still have tanks, plenty of troops, airplanes and other forms of conventional power.

Knowing that, I can only assume you are advocating action that has already been rejected by Obama, such as the wholesale destruction of the Syrian military? Or perhaps a no-fly zone? I think you said earlier that you didn't support boots on the ground, so I can only assume what your position is. Can you clear that up for me?
