eynon:
For you to have claims to take seriously you have to support them. Simply saying that it is difficult to make oppressive programs that diminish the well-being of those in them and many times result in suicide (there is an epidemic with gay suicides) illegal doesn't prove either that it actually is difficult or that it should be legal (a separate issue altogether). It is not a form of injustice to make illegal programs of oppression and injustice. You argument is parallel to saying that it was a form of injustice to force segregation in the south. Opposing injustice is, by definition, not itself injustice.
You clearly don't understand the definition of violence. The only tangible violence involved in this case would be the psychological violence committed against the gay children by the children's parents and the pseudo-psychologists and frauds of malpractice.
Obviously most of the cases that would potentially come about with regards to this proposed law would only come about after the so treated gay child has been severely afflicted by the program and possibly committed suicide as a result of the torturous, oppressive "treatment." The laws do not need to be difficult and arbitrary. Many of the specific cases may be, but that's what the judicial system is all about isn't it?
That you keep parading around the ridiculous concept of "culture war politics" is pretty good evidence of the ideological partisanship of your "argument."
