Capitalism has served its purpose but it's not going to take us any farther than this. It seems acceptable until you take into consideration what's going on in the developing world, the incessant war it creates, and the environmental damage it creates.

Spider we are concerned with socio-economic classes here. If you belong to the upper tier of the world's trombone players its ok to be in that class of human being because it isn't tied to an exploitative mode of production.

Yes, and it took decades and decades to even propagate the idea of labor rights, and many more to actually have them made into law... and these laws are now being weakened all over the US, and barely enforced anyways. The only institution that cares about them, unions, are becoming steadily irrelevant. Point is, changes of this scale take time. Even more so given the massive interconnectedness of the global economy.

I mean, do you realize that if your system were implemented in five, ten or twenty years, it would be a death warrant for at least two billion people?
