I'm not sure where this all ends Eynon. I'm really not. Because it's FUBAR all around: we've got people who support parties simply because it's their party, we've got insane corruption and money that has jacked the system, we've got a media that won't do anything but do play-by-play.

As far as the catastrophe scenario: already been there. 9/11. That should have brought us and the entire world together. That lasted about the blink of an eye before it was cynically used to drive a wedge between us internally and us and the world.

Sad times.

Actually I agree with you in one respect, now that the time has passed.

Except for the fact that it launched and entire decade's worth of assaults on freedom, the Constitution, liberties and our standing in the world when it was used as a blank check.

In other words, the bigger tragedy isn't just those we lost on 9/11--it's what we did to ourselves in the guise of a "War on Terror," which today sounds still like the most non-sensical, Orwellian title.

I will also point out that (watch what I do here) that the second objective of 9/11 for OBL was to crush our economy. That didn't happen.

That was achieved in 2008, also from within.

Yeah we had that up yesterday. That really sums up the TP in Congress--they don't know what to do when elected, except oppose things. Certainly not govern.

Reminds me of The Joker in The Dark Knight:
