Something I never understood about implementation of PPACA. It allowed states to administer their own plans. While it was reviled by most GOP (including Jindal) as "Federal healthcare", these same Republicans chose to NOT implement the state plan, and allow the Fed to set something up in the state.

Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!

The whole thing is just spite at this point. Look, just because the ACA was adopted in its original form, who's to say we can't MODIFY and improve it, adapt it, go through several drafts?

Where are the ideas beyond simply f*** it?

Yeah and that's when our "democracy" went over the cliff, when instead of working together to deal with our problems now only one side can "win" and the other has to "lose."

And lord knows the media has fanned that for years now.

I'm not up to speed on all of US Healthcare reform, however, purely from a business sense, wouldn't it be more beneficial in terms of reducing labour costs, if at least, there was a government funded healthcare even on a basic level, you'd think most major business leaders (Obviously ignoring the major health and insurance firms who work directly in that sector) would jump at the chance to support this.

This thread, and the conservatives posting in it are a perfect example of why many Republican Representatives in the House believe they are bulletproof and can get away with anything, and say anything.

The GOP can't really complain when the fed fail to pick up the slack in states that opted out of running their own exchange. Yeah, on one hand you could claim the fed said they would for such states, at the same time the GOP shouldn't take advantage of a situation they helped create. States that have their own exchanges by all measure seem to be running far smoother than the ones that opted out. The GOP is known for being a states rights party, so it would make sense if most of the states that made exchanges would have been Republican ones since their chances to run better are exponential than ones ran by the fed. Too bad that makes too much sense. As someone not too fond of the ACA, I hate that my only real recourse to fight against it is the GOP. Makes me want to vomit. Any valid points they have against it get ruined by shit like this.

Of course even though many of the GOP politicians pushing this madness are doing so because the ARE bulletproof, the moderate Republicans problem is Obama is bulletproof too.. There' no more elections for Obama to worry about, I doubt it very much he's going to blink this time.. The moderate Republicans are going to have to show some balls pretty soon and take on the TP and the 'madness' that they are creating..
