Here's an idea: call me crazy, but maybe if those in gov't did something to IMPROVE THE ECONOMY people wouldn't... need food stamps!

Of course we will, but we don't want them at this level.
One thing I find endlessly fascinating about the tea party insanity is the people (like on here) that see the rising poverty/food stamp rates and they get ANGRY. Angry... at the people who have fallen on hard times, like 2008 was all their fault. Classic blame-the-victim?
Go get a job, loser! Parasite! Maggot!
As if living off of welfare is like some kind of comfortable life.
Of course, these people all suddenly go silent when you ask them "What, then?" They don't care about the consequences of eliminating such things, only that they be burned to the ground.
As for Star Trek, they can have all the food stamps they want as long as they don't make another movie because I just saw the recent one and it suuuuuuucked.
