And suppose the crisis is averted, Dude--what in the hell was the point of any of this?
I remember asking somewhat rhetorically back in November, "Who is there left for the GOP to alienate?" Seeing that you could cross off gays, blacks, Asians, Mexicans, pro-choice women, moderates, indies and obviously Muslims (let's not forget Atheists).
Now we have our answer: any remaining moderate Republicans. Gone.

I'll say it again, the Tea Party caucus is largely from districts that are so far to the right that they have no reason to fear any general election challenge, but the moderate republican members who never wanted to do any of this shutdown business but were scared of the tea party are the ones who will ironically suffer at the ballot box for this whole fiasco.
