Feedback for possible site changes

If I were him, I'd buy a couple content generators, in addition to getting volunteers from his existing user base. For a set price they'll post a certain number of times per day. It is pretty inexpensive and a good way to create the illusion of a community. This, combined with Google Ads, would still be far cheaper than buying this site, getting it switched over, etc.

Guys, keep it civil. There's no need to be rude or condescending in posts.

Firstly, I would NOT sell the site - it would be handed over. I'm certainly not looking to profit from the site in any way. And I don't think Chris is either - its not like this site is generating money. Its an idea of merging to have more members and to have a more active interest in getting new members as well. Just as Quell did before with PP, I have tried doing all sorts of things to get more traffic to the site and its a very time consuming (and largely worthless) endeavor. I've tried posting to Google groups, other forums, etc, but the postings just get deleted as spam and seemingly result in no new members showing up. We had talked about advertising a bit on Facebook but ultimately, I don't think that would work really well either as most people don't click on any of the Facebook ads and if they do , its usually for a product, not a forum.

Its just not easy to get a lot of traffic without hitting the top of search engine listings, and ultimately thats what you have to end up doing.

Anywho, lets keep the questions and comments constructive and not personal. I don't think anyone is trying to screw anyone else over here so these talks of "hostile 80s takeover" seem a bit extreme.
