If you can't react calmly, or you don't have a great deal of training to trigger muscle memory, you are more likely to end up hurting yourself, your family or your drunk friend with a key who came to sleep it off than you are defending against presumably armed home invaders with the element of surprise.

If you are that concerned about home invasions, practice. Set your alarm, and practice unlocking that box until you can do it in your sleep. If you aren't willing to put in the time, you'll just end up getting yourself killed.

People like Menson and yourself are why guns have such a bad rap. Totally untrained morons talking about taking on armed men when they can't even open a goddamned lockbox.

No, it is a danger to themselves and the community. Nothing like having criminals break into your home when you're not there (statistically far more probable) and making away with a free handgun.
