I think I've been over the car comparison a few time now. I don't own a car anyway.

Well in New York you're more likely to be run over by a taxi cab driver than killed by a gun. 
There are more guns in this nation than cars, yet cars kill far more people than guns do. So, statistically, your car is far more likely to kill you than your gun is. How bout dem apples?
Of course, if you really want to get technical, neither kills anyone without an operator, so both are equally safe until someone begins to operate them.

I actually got hit by a black car about a month or so ago. Left a nice debt in his hood. Didn't spill my coffee tho!
