I'm sure the person who killed his wife with a gun thought he wasn't murderous a week prior, as well.
Regardless, you're asking people to assume anecdotal evidence is accurate. That's the stupid part.

To answer the question posed by the title of the thread, yes, I do. Any child gaining access to any tool owned by a parent and misusing it is under strict liability of the parents.
