I don't see why it would be a travesty to only allow licensed dealers to sell guns to people. If I need antibiotics I have to go to a doctor with a license to practice medicine and get a prescription, then go to a licensed pharmacist to get the actual medicine. Some random guy who lives down the street isn't allowed to sell me antibiotics, but it's vital to the preservation of liberty that he be able to sell me a gun?

The right of the people to keep and bear pills shall not be infringed.
It has nothing to do with medicine. There are laws regarding the distribution of prescription drugs. There are no such laws for guns. The second amendment is in place. How many prescription drugs existed at the time the 2nd amendment was added?
I'm also pretty sure that pills are not very useful in defending yourself.
