Yes it is a giveaway to the insurance industry and many of us have said that from the beginning. Why do you think they had Max Baucus write it? He's a bag boy for the insurance industry.

Maybe we can have the Koch Brothers write EPA guidelines--oh wait, they pretty much already are.

Single-payer solves the problems. But the GOP didn't want that--they wanted a mandate. So they got it.

And now they don't want that, either. Just like Romney doesn't want it, even though he felt it was a good idea for his state when he was governor.

Of course it lowers costs. It is just basic economics. And the cost of Medicaid and Medicare would be drastically lower if they were actually allowed to negotiate prices.

Let me now remind everybody that the GOP is 0 for 3 when it comes to healthcare:

-The oppose single-payer because this is "socialism"
-They created the individual mandate and supported it until a Dem adopted the idea and now they oppose THAT as "socialism"
-In fact, they allowed and Bush passed Medicare Part D, which mandated that the U.S. (that means YOU, people, it's your tax dollars) had NO negotiating powers when purchasing prescription drugs

Flip, flop, flip.

So.... the big bright idea is to shift the cost of insurance onto... your employer. Yeah that sounds like capitalism!

BTW for those lost in the fantasy weeds thinking that healthcare here is the best in the world and Obamacare is going to now make it expensive, ta-da! It ALREADY IS: we pay TWICE what other developed countries do for healthcare. TWICE (as a percentage of GDP):



Now, let's take it one step further: do you really think if the signup were for single-payer we'd even be talking about some website meltdown when it launched?
