I just don't understand why people sit there, know this shit is going to happen, and just keep accepting it as part of life. The government isn't going to stop encroaching on issues like this, so why do we keep deceiving ourselves into thinking that we can just cherry pick the good parts of government, without getting the bad too. Sounds f**k insane to me.

If you are ok with government, then you need to start being ok with NSA spying, armed TSA guards, religious idiots in Congress, etc... because that's the reality. That's part of the package. All this nonsense about being upset over certain things the government does is just utopian, wishful thinking that the government would be perfect and do all the things you want. Won't happen.
