Had an insurance policy that didn't have maternity care. Even after I had my tubes tied, we/I still had to pay for maternity care as a part of our/my policy.

Had an insurance policy that didn't have coverage for STD treatment even though I wasn't a big ol' whore and, in fact, my X's cheating and putting me at risk for one had a great deal to do with me cutting him off and then divorcing him.

Had a policy that didn't cover prostate and testicular cancer treatment even though, well, I don't even have those.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

As a person who doesn't care for Obamacare, I don't understand this thread.

My current pre-Obamacare insurance works exactly as described. Me and my co-workers are all in a risk pool together. We all have roughly the same policy (with a buy up option) and there is coverage for things for each gender.
