Why is the NSA spying on US citizens?

The thing today is those who cast the net can be snared themselves. Things like Wikileaks, Snowdon, etc tend to show that. Thats why the net casters don't like Wikileaks, Snowdon, etc.

This is an interesting court case being brought against the NSA by some of it's former officials whom they attempted to charge with espionage because of their whistleblowing activities.

Some guy on Vice had a good point: we should be spying on the government.

Since the government is going to keep on spying on us, lets spy on them. Enact legislation that requires all representatives and senior executive officers to be wiretapped and bugged, then put everything regarding politics online and freely available.

They do this with cops in some jurisdictions, and surprise surprise, the number of complaints and number of confirmed abuses plummeted.

Sounds like a great idea to me.
