1) re-steam think so, like I said can't imagine direct I.P not working, if one of you wants to PM me your I.P I can try connecting in a min.
2) Derp, this is how i have it.
-C:/whatever/whatever/whatever/2k Games/Civ 4/Bts/Mods
-which is where I put the C2C file from the rar you download, then I renamed that to 'Caveman2Cosmos', then I put the entire of the patch's files within that.

I got it working
In steam just go to the Program File folder find steam got to steamapps/common/ sid mieiers bla blah ...beyond the sword/beyond the sword/mods
It's the same folder all the BTS mods so you will know when you have the right right one.

Derp.. ports forwarded now (which I will note the combination of this game dozen or so required ports and BT's retarded hub's makes for a laborious process).
