Why can't millennials find jobs?

Our population is growing every year.Even today the population is more then at any point in human history.The world is about 25,000 miles around, and has been for about the last 4 1/2 billion years. Factories that once employed thousands now run on a few dozen. The world ain't getting any bigger, and automation is here to stay. Yep, us humans as smart as we think we are, sure painted ourselves into a corner.

There is an entitlement inherent in the American condition that says "if I have a good resume and/or a degree, there should be a job for me", which is, except in times of bubbles i.e. tech, total bullshit. If you really want a good job you have to go find it... and learn how to make connections, develop those connections, network, and be patient. Sometimes you have to get an adjacent job to what you want and wait for a transfer. Sometimes you have to move. It's about priorities.

You don't deserve to walk into a job interview and be 50% of the way towards a job. If it happens, it happens, and sometimes it does... but that's luck. The are select few situations where people simply, after exhausting all competent resources... totally without job prospects.

About 50 years ago, the ratio of jobs to applicants was probably one job for ten applicants.Today its probably closer to one job for five hundred applicants.And most of those jobs are post NAFTA menial jobs.
