The US should have 2 year mandatory national service

i think there should be a larger, more open, and voluntary national service organization though. shit, even recruit like the military does. get as many people to join as you can, and have them do things to help communities that the communities themselves can't/won't do.

i know. that's why i said larger and more open that aggressively recruits. everyone knows about the peace corps, far fewer people have even heard of americorps, let alone what it is. it's sad, but there are way more people in the peace corps than there are in americorps.

the only issue I can see are possible costs to the private sector in re a whole bunch of labor being put in the market and training said labor.
