Which just reinforces though the idea that the fillibuster needs to go, like so many other archaic procedures. When it's been abused that much.

You pretty much are handing the president the power to unilaterally nominate judges for 1 year terms, ad infinitum. I love Obama, but not that much.

This image really says it all. Democrats would have countered with the same level of obstruction the next time a Republican is elected to the WH. Harry Reid is not an idiot, he's been around long enough to know that one day Dems will be in the minority. His decision was anything but short sighted. This president as well as future preidents (democrats AND republicans) will benefit from this change.
