This should have been done under Bush. Elections have consequences, and the president's nominees should all get voted on. A system of checks and balances should be built into the constitution and the way representatives, senators, and presidents are elected....not on the back of arcane senate procedural technicalities that can easily be abused and altered.

What did the GOP expect? It violated the promise it gave Reid over summer and refused to balk.
The filibuster is stupid. I wish the whole thing was scrapped (except for talking filibuster) instead of just a portion of it.
The GOP doesn't get to just decide it won't work with Obama on all appointments and force a nullification of the election.
