In other news, it's quite right to highlight Francis' analysis of political economy which is to be greatly welcomed, but it should also be emphasized that as good as this is, on the other hand, Francis still upholds the Church's sexist opposition to the ordination of women (let's also not forget the backward position on abortion), defending the entrenched subordination of women within the Church's inglorious history. Not to mention the position on the LGBT population. It would be nice to see more progress here.
It's not all celebration, in other words.
