My credit score is hilariously awful.
I have zero credit card debt but use it all the time, I have a line of credit, I paid off all my student loans, I have a mortgage and a car payment, and I have paid all of this on time and in full for years and years... but my credit score is like 630
I called and asked why that was. I guess it is due to the fact that I made late credit card payments eight years ago, when I first got my credit card as a student. I pointed out all the ways in which I have proven credit-worthiness, unfortunately, it fell on deaf ears. But of course this allows more interest to be charged, as I'm "high risk," lol. Apparently paying your bills on time, carrying little debt and doing this for almost a decade means nothing compared to two missed payments when I was 19 years old. I even asked why the hell I was allowed to take out mortgages, a car loan, a line of credit, etc. considering how high risk I was, didn't really get an answer to that one.
