Libertarians and their Public University problems.

Our university system is a program designed entirely to sell expensive student loans. Also people who work at starbucks etc don't need college degrees.

Part of the problem is what exactly is a marketable skill? Should people be going to school to do retail sales? Should companies just pay for training for this stuff and people just expect to live and work in those types of jobs? I mean, if the pay and training was there, I could see it, but I just don't really know what a good solution here is.

the problem is there aren't enough jobs and there never will be. not with the current trend of efficiency and globalization. so everyone becomes a plumber and an electrician. there are only so many of those jobs available, and if you saturate the market, you only help to decrease the wages those people make. it's the same problem when everyone says you should get a STEM degree. what happens when everyone is an engineer or a biologist? you decrease the demand for those jobs, decreasing wages and you create a glut in those industries.

what we need is a new economic system, fewer humans, and slightly fewer college graduates.
