He knew that it was wrong.

However, psychologically, boys that age don't understand risk. They are very poor at understanding consequences, which is why that age of boy does incredibly stupid things all the time.

I think the sentence was appropriate, even though it kills me justice boner.

16 YO? He should have got jail time.. But he's going to F'up again in the next 10 years, no doubt.. So he'll end up in jail anyway.

Also I'm sure the kid had top notch expensive lawyers provided by his wealthy parents.. Pretty funny when you think of it.. He gets off with no jail time because they used the defense that his wealthy parents spoiled him and gave him everything.. So then those same parents get him expensive lawyers to get him off from killing 4 people.. That'll teach him.

Can't make this stuff up..

i'm certainly not a person who thinks we should lock up everyone. if a millionaire kills someone, what's better punishment, he lose his money and the victim's kin gets restitution, or he sits in jail for 10 years and comes back out to his money? the rich are the only people that can go to jail and come out without their lives in a disaster, and it's because they are rich to begin with. i think the greater punishment would be financial ones, not to mention, it's cheaper for the state to do that. and the victim's kin get some compensation for their loss
