This place for example has taught me more than any class I ever took in college. Just trying to troll for absurd positions requires you to learn something about that position, and then try to craft an argument around those facts, even when you disagree with it or struggle to find a compelling argument. Why should I spend 2 hours in class listing to my teacher read the wikipedia about the iranian revolution, when I can come on here and troll for the ayatollah. I'll learn more, and because it's more enjoyable ill put more time and effort into it than I would otherwise.
It's disgusting how narrow the concept of education seems to be to you people. As if you can only gain knowledge from your assigned class teacher. As if a PhD automatically makes them THE BEST SOURCE ON EARTH to learn the material from, and everything else a student does is inferior. It's a terrible f**k culture.
