Was speaking about this with Decypher in the Sports section and agreed it needed to be in here. Can't believe it has taken this long for the truth to come out. It has disgraced the police in this country (obviously in particularly South Yorkshire Police). In my eyes this is a step towards justice, but justice will only truly be met when those responsible are held accountable for their actions and the families of the victims are compensated accordingly. The actions of the police and the horrific journalism by certain newspapers (in particularly The Sun) in the aftermath of this event is something this country should be thoroughly ashamed of. Anyways at least this is a step in the right direction, despite being far too late.

But we know that the police were corrupt in the 70s and 80s. It fact they were so bad that the Thatcher government even tried to reform them!

I'm sure that there will have been a few yobs causing trouble there but that doesn't mean that the emergency services did their jobs properly, it doesn't mean that the FA should have chosen a ground without a safety certificate and it doesn't mean that those who died were anything other than innocent victims.

Major state institutions have failed the families. It's disgraceful frankly that the families have had to fight hard for this. Let's also be clear this goes right the way to the top. Thatcher was made aware south yorkshire Police were behaving in a deceitful manner and because she wanted to keep the police on her side following the key role they played in the miners strike she sat on this information . The police that fabricated the evidence, that prick kelvin McKenzie, and thatcher are all scum and I hope they rot in hell. Lying toads. Oh and that tosser Boris Johnson can rot in hell too. They are all falling over themselves to apologise and its too little too late. Kudos to Cameron for apologising. Now he needs to show leadership and a full enquiry needs to be had and nothing less than criminal prosecutions for those that perverted the course of justice.
