British/ American Insults

Sometimes I hear British people hurl insults and I laugh because those words are not insulting in America. To me British people sounds so adorable when they swear. For example "Wanker" is apparently a bad word in England. I'm sure there must be some American insults that British people don't find offensive at all. I want to hear some of them. This thread is for American to try to insult like a Brit (or at least what we think Brits say when they're trying to insult), and for Brits to insult like an American (with a focus on phrases that are deem offensive in the US, but not the UK).

Is there a worse thing you can possibly call a woman than flower of paradise?

When you start getting into the heavy slang/cursing that side of the pond its like a different language. Can't understand even half of it at first.

Twat isn't all that bad, but flower of paradise is still the most offensive thing you can call anyone in terms of swearing.

IIRC it's now the only word not permitted on the BBC.

I guess I never got the difference between the two. The two words literally mean exactly the same thing, and one is very bad and other is merely rude. Same goes for screw and f*ck, I suppose. Over here though twat and flower of paradise seem pretty much equivalent.

As far as I can surmise, the difference is that in America, calling someone a "flower of paradise" tends to be a derogatory term used to towards a woman, but also indicates a lack of respect for women in general. In England it would seem that it's a very nasty insult, but more gender-neutral in it's usage.

Twat is definitely used in the US! And no, flower of paradise is not not equivalent to f**k. They are totally different words with different applications. And yes, people have seemed to me a lot freer with flower of paradise there than in the US.
