Two things I've decided watching all of this:
a) How dumb it was to declare the idea a complete failure after... a month. A month. Of course it was going to come around sooner or later so that hysteria was literally just an epic waste of time.
b) I'm firmly convinced that the real opposition to all this is literally nothing more than not wanting to have O'Hitler and the Democrats have a "win." In other words, success. That's why all the lies, the bogeyman stories, the misinformation, the completely over-the-top lunacy while at the same time never offering a viable alternative.
The GOP has become the Tonya Harding of politics. Rather than go out on the ice and beat you by being better, they'll just try and kneecap you so at least you won't succeed.
