We know that protection isn't 100% effective and we accept the small risk that it (or two different forms) might fail. The odds are extremely low, especially when you consider the window in which women are able to become pregnant in their cycles, but they exist. If you get unlucky and all of that happens at the same time and the woman doesn't get an abortion, you should still pay because that was the risk you took.
