Billionaire, Ken Langone, spearheading the effort to restore the St Patrick's Cathedral in New York, is upset about the Pope's message working against the rich in class warfare, citing a "concerned" and "anonymous" potential seven figure donor's reluctance to donate.


Just wondering if the anonymous donor that we are supposed to believe exists is more interested in helping to the restore the Cathedral or use his or her's money to control what the Pope says.

Imagine what good all that money could do for humanity in need other than wasting it restoring a monument of superstition.

if you're going to criticize religions wasting money on things that aren't the poor your best bet would be to not start with catholicism.

Not just on the poor. Such funds could go towards a myriad of things benefiting mankind in general. Medical and research, infrastructures, technology...and yes of course feeding and housing people. But no, people are still so superstitious and stupid that they see nothing wrong with spending millions even dring a bad economic time on such things as idols and monuments they can worship their contrived gods in.

Well, I think that both of you have a point. Gnostic is right - a refurbished St. Patrick's will not help nearly as many people as spending that money on, say, healthcare and education (which is where Eynon is right).
