It isn't a lack of money at all. There is more than enough food and money to provide a sustainable diet for every person on this planet. We spend more on pet food than we do feeding poor people.
Also, I don't hate Catholics. I admire the work they do in healthcare - a full quarter of the worlds hospitals are Catholic-run.
But here is the kicker, the one simple statement that does make me rage when I see what congregational donations are spent on:
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor. You will be rewarded treasure in heaven."
But nope. Got to spend millions replacing stained glass and rebuilding masonry and brickwork. Spend billions providing a Catholic education and propagating yourself. Quite imperfect.
