Anyway Manziel is entering the NFL draft? Another Heisman QB winner who will be an NFL QB flop??

But he'll go high in the draft, maybe even top 5? Many teams have bought into the recent mobile/read option quarterback trend. So far there seems to be more that type QB's that have failed then succeeded. But as I mentioned before IMO a lot of this 'trend' is because that's all that's coming out of college football now. Very few college teams teach their QB's how to read defenses, and drop back and pass anymore. And with Manzeil there's his off-field mentality too. He's definitely a loose canon.. And there's lots of history of those types failing in the NFL too..

A lot of teams need a QB now, so he should go top 5, or at least top 10.. I have no idea what the draft positions are right now, but if he's around in the draft I can see a team like the Raiders taking him... They have a history of liking this type of QB.. They've all be failures, but that's the Raiders..

IMO it's less than a 50% chance he'll be a decent to good QB in the NFL for a good amount of years instead of being a 1-2 year flash in the pan and then fade away..

We'll see.

The football IQ goes back to what I have been saying about the type of QB coming out of college now.. These college teams aren't interested in teaching it's QB's how to pass anymore, or how to read defenses, or to check down to the 3rd or 4th receiver on the play.. . All they are doing is putting an athletic guy back there and let him run around when he gets in trouble instead of figuring out the defense, or looking for the 2nd or 3rd receiver.

It's easier and a lot less complicated to teach that than the Pro-style game.

I don't think they are failing to teach that. I'm not sure what the hell college football you have been watching, but few college qbs have ever been very good with pro style offenses. But that's something you can learn. You can't learn speed athleticism or a winning mentality. Look at Russell Wilson or kapernick, they LEARNED it. Plenty of qbs in this draft have pretty high football iqs and Manzel is one. People just assume he can't be an intelligent passer because of the freak plays he makes. But for a guy his size to dismantle some defenses like he does, he has to be sharp and know the game.

Manzel bridgewater and bottles all have what it takes to do well in the nfl. Unfortunately one of them will end up at the jags and their career will be ruined.
