I just had this conversation with somebody and my prediction is: this blows over.
People have a short memory politically and honestly if he did do this, the fact that he shafted a small town in NJ really doesn't resonate with a national audience. Unless in the coming days it turns out there's a smoking gun that implicates him and he's caught lying, he'll be fine.
Christie's problem isn't a scandal--his problem is that he has to get through a primary determined by people who can't stand him and vice/versa. It's ultimately what sank the previous two: Romney tried to revoke his moderate credentials only to try and put them back on in the second debate. McCain didn't even try to pander to these morons but then tried to last-minute by inflicting Sarah Palin on us all (there should be a special place in hell for John McCain for that,
It's fun for now because we have the emails and the texts and the Enron-like lack of humanity from his staffers laughing over those schoolkids being shafted.
Next week we'll be on to something else. Mark my words.
