Why is the West supporting an apartheid vision of Israel?

israel is terrorist and backwards. they speak nicely to the west in english to get cash and lucrative arms contracts, while teaching the hatred of palestinians to their children in hebrew. and their naive western sympathizes come along wondering why there is no peace, and blame palestine for it, under the fashionable mantra of BUT THE HOLOCAUST!!!!!!

Yet we never hear you talk about the injustices Palestinians suffer at their own hands unless challenged to demonstrate it first.

I don't think anyone is saying Israelis do not hate Palestinians, but Israelis are more rational than Palestinians when it comes to the decision of having a two state solution, where as I'd bet a large proportion of Palestinians would like to see Jews eliminated as a people, as with pretty much 90% of the Middle East thinking along the same lines, and that's the problem, because the crux is how do you trust a people to come to peace when they've;

A) Not had much experience in governing themselves along the rule or law or democratic values

B) Adhere to ideologies which implicitly desire the destruction of your entire people

And,

C) A people who have demonstrated the glaring shortcomings of Arab society by being a successful state despite the ongoing violence and war around them, with a small population.

So if I was an Israeli, I'd be making pretty hard bargains to ensure that what they're saying is sincere, and this is something which most people like to gloss over.

The second largest Jewish population in the world is in Iran and by all accounts they face no more governmental abuse than the average Iranian. There is lots of anti-Zionism but you are drastically overstating the level of anti-Semitism.

It is a problem but the number one reason for it is Israeli actions in Palestine.

As for Israeli justification of their measures in Palestine... I get it. I really do. I can see why Israel behaves the way it does. The problem however is that I expect more from a modern democracy... Particularly one with its own long history of persecution and abuse. You ought to know better and you ought to expect better from your leaders.
