Yet everybody keeps suggesting the way out of this is to bomb the shit out of Iran, which would just drive the people back into the arms of the gov't.

'Member how we'd be "greeted as liberators" in Iraq? Oh, we were just gonna topple the gov't and then... [managment: INSERT PLAN HERE WHEN ACQUIRED] Iraqis were gonna love us! Just like they do now, after we unleashed a civil war among other atrocities (many by us) that killed more than 100,000 of them. Or published photos of us shoving glow sticks up their asses or waterboarding them when their only crime was lookin' like a tayerist.

You gotta love a successful operation where we manage to get 4,400+ of our own troops killed and 100,000+ of the people we were "liberating." With that kind of success rate, who WOULDN'T want to dive right in with some Iran-bombin'?

There is alot of fearmongering going on in this thread. By all accounts Iran's leadership is viewed as rational. That is the assessment of the intelligence and military community in both Israel and the US. Iran would not attack a nuclear power capable of destroying their country... Especially when said power is close allies with the US. They would not release nuclear weapons to terrorists because that could just as easily spell doom for any other country (not just Israel).

Either Israel and Pakistan disarm or Iran gets nuclear weapons. Either way will bring more stability.
