No, you haven't won.

The US strategy in the War on Terrorism seems to be based on the idea that terrorists are a seperate species, so if you kill all of them, there will never be any more. Of course that premise is entirely wrong, so the war is going poorly.

Aaaaaand I am not saying that Afghanistan or Obama's keeping us there is acceptable in the least.

It's one of his biggest failures and biggest broken promises. Why in the hell are we still even there? This thing was a mess back around, oh, 2002 and yet here we are 12 years later, still mucking about, and Obama gets away with it because the media is more interested in things like Benghazi or bridge closings.

We did not win the war on terror. OBL did. In spades. Don't know if this was the plan, but we used it as a blank check to assault our liberties that THEY supposedly hate. Oh, and that economy that he also wished to destroy on 9/11? That didn't happen. That happened when our own Wall St. players wrecked it in a way that he never could. Unlike him, though, they were never hunted down and brought to justice. They were given multi-million dollar bonuses and to this day walk around as free men.

You had one shot. The political capital you had after 9/11 is gone. There is simply no way you can attack Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria and Iran at the same time. Logistically it is impossible. How to pay for it? How to even get major forces in the area? That plan is totally unworkable from every perspective. It would require the greatest military force devised in decades. It would require you to occupy these countries for additional decades. And all of this is only worth doing assuming that the terror threat is removed - a simply preposterous suggestion given a simultaneous attack on every major regional power lol.

In fact, drawing the US into rash and untenable positions was the exact strategy behind the 9/11 attacks. You would quite literally be fulfilling Bin Laden's legacy. Which is a shameful and illogical way to respond no matter how you look at it.
