Here's a question for you sleazy lawyers out there-- --let's say your company's policy is that no illegal drugs are allowed and they have drug testing.

You get tested and come up positive for pot. But you smoked it on vacation while in Colorado, where it is legal.

Have you violated company policy?

I just thought that was an interesting side effect of the laws that nobody was talking about.

Pretty sure if your company has a drug policy you've agreed to take the test and if you fail you've violated the drug policy. I doubt the policy would make any mention of using those drugs in other places where they may be legal.

My point was if you were in Colorado where it was legal how is it "illicit"?

Caveat: I completely understand that private companies can do whatever they want, I just thought that it was an interesting side effect. Now, what happens if it goes legal nationwide? Can they still say that you can't use a legal drug, while making no such distinction with regard to alcohol?
