If ever there was a moral case for the world intervening, this is it, unless we want to sit by and watch another Holocaust or Rwanda and do nothing.
That is coming from somebody well aware that we've buried ourselves in costs and failure in the two wars we waged over the past decade or so. I am so tired of reading about this bozo and his dad before him and how they're a blight on the face of the planet--and that's saying something, considering some of the countries out there today.
There's two main reasons why our "freedom loving" nation isn't doing anything:
1) They don't have oil; there's not a clear-cut case for disaster capitalism either like you had with Iraq and Halliburton or even Afghanistan
2) China
Well ok three in that there's that little nuke thingy too.
North Korea gets away with the shit that they do because they always have My Bodyguard, China, protecting them. Until that changes, I can't see this changing.
As for the military thing and the people of Seoul, I have absolutely zero doubt that with our military planning and abilities we could set up an overwhelming pre-emptive strike that would pretty much render them Iraq in Desert Storm, and then have our way with them.
I'm also thinking that because they're not Muslims we can't use them as another arrow in the War on Terror quiver, used now for years by our leaders to trot out the Fear Bear whenever they want to scare the American people into going along with something stupid. So another reason to think nothing will change.
