I played Wildstar over the weekend. I'm not sure how its supposedly to be vastly different than any other MMO out there. I ran around, did quests, leveled, got new gear from quests, did some crafting, etc etc. It was pretty much exactly like every other mmo. No real skill involved, just button mashing. Its not that it wasn't fun, but it just wasn't different. Felt like I was just playing WoW again honestly.
It was a very polished game and I ran into very few bugs but it just didn't make me think "Wow! This game is amazing!" Others in chat were talking about subbing for it (as it is sub based) and how they hope people role-play. Um, this game was extremely goofy. Don't get me wrong, I liked that, but this is not an MMO that you RP in. It was not a typical fantasy MMO that was serious (with a few small, subtle jokes in the quests). The game was flat out silly. Purposefully.
At this point, I just think people are desperate for something different. I have a hard time seeing Wildstar surviving as a sub based game. They'll probably end up going f2p just like SWTOR.
I've spent a bit of time in EQ Landmark but honestly crafting just isn't my thing. I did do a bit of building but it was just your basic messing around, learning the tools and such. Its fun building stuff but its still pretty buggy. Lots of texture bleeding and client crashes.
Got Watch_Dogs for free with my GTX 770 I just bought so I may give it a try since its free and all.
Otherwise was playing EQ1 a bit, mostly just messin around. Updated GW2 last night and played it again. It was entertaining at least.
