No one is saying we don't want women to be successful. I don't give a damn if a woman makes more than me. I really don't. Could care less. AS long as she has everything else I want in a woman, or at least most of it lol, I'm fine.

What I do care about is that women who are put in those situations, who can go live @ home until they are married, need to understand a lot of men cant' do stuff like that.

IIRC as far as women vs men in their twenties in the current economy women fare far better job wise then men, particularly college educated women vs college educated men. Hear plenty of women giving men grief because the man can't find a job that correlates to want they went to college for. I am assuming they haven't been under a rock since 2008 and know the meager job market new college grads face, especially men. The workforce is shifting to white collar as well, something women have been doing since forever and men are only now getting into. So there aren't a ton of female engineers, but engineering is on the decline so does it matter? In the job markets that are growing, women already have a leg up on men from being in those types of positions for the better part of the last 50-60 years. Before I got into my current job, I applied to do work as a paralegal at nearly every law office in town (we have 2 courthouses here so plenty of lawyers in these parts), a longstanding female dominated job, and got passed up over and over again for 22 year old women straight out of pre-law honors class at a DIV-3 College.

Really, wormwood, I think characteristics like size and strength disparity will disappear as humans continue to evolve into social animals. That particular characteristic specifically evolved in species where the males fight for access to females, for instance.

Since we no longer compete for females physically that trait will disappear eventually as it serves no purpose in regard to survival or nonsurvival, and with it the relevance of many gender roles that were imposed on the human animal during it's development and which are still ingrained deeply in our social consciousness. It's very possible that if we would have hit upon a different social strategy than the one we did, with dominant male and subordinate female, the human species might be very different than it is now. In many species it is the female that is larger and more powerful, so "making babies" is not why this characteristic exists in humans. It's random chance really that we are the way we are.

We are totally creatures that are adapted to the environment in which we develop. As the environmental surroundings change so will the physical, mental, and social adaptation that allow us to survive.

Diverse cultures and individuals are desirable trait because if something comes along some day and kills of some cultures, others might survive. If the world has only one dominant culture and something like this occurs if conditions change in such a way that this culture is no longer viable the chances of survival go way down.

So monoculture is not desirable, even highly technically advanced monoculture is a bad idea. It's putting all of your eggs into one basket.
