States have less ability to completely insulate their borders from the outside world. This is obviously true. But this doesn't sync up with the collapse of states as an institution. It just means that states are less able to control information and the flow of ideas. This has reduced and will continue to reduce totalitarianism. It's linkage to the collapse of states as an institution is unestablished.
