This is my theory as to why "conspiracy theories" exist. This cognitive disturbance happens because people are brainwashed to think a particular idealogy is good, while another is bad. However they observe the opposite in their day to day lives. To reconcile the disconnect between what they think they know and the way reality actually works an elaborate theory is constructed.

Since socialism is bad, then socialism must have secretly taken over capitalism, which is good. Voila! a conspiracy theory is born.

Conspiracy theories are the result of the brains pattern-seeking behaviors allowed to run amuck. You notice that people share an interest, then create an elaborate justification for why they must be working together.

The analogy I use is that of two people isolated from one another noticing that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. They start tracking lunar cycles. They start being able to figure out when to plant crops. As a result, they are more successful, they are richer, better fed. An outside observer watching both would conclude that they were working in tandem, or at least suspect it, because they were both benefiting from the same knowledge, acting in the same ways. Meanwhile they've never actually communicated, and the whole theory is simply based on mutual interests.

True lefties need to forget about the duopoly and go Green party. Let's promote human rights, environment, health, and people instead of plutocrats.

This is why democracy must always be undermined. Do you get to vote for how much your salary is? Well in a true democracy you would and so would everyone else. The fact that you have no real control over your life should show you that you are being treated abusively by the "powers that be".

Label the different components with whatever labels suit your personal sensibilities, but still this widespread abuse is what is going on with humanity right now.
