There are a lot of Chinese with loads of liquidity these days. You've got to spend/invest it somewhere.

I love the pageantry behind all of this. China is asking us not to take sides, while Japan stands to the side laughing like, ”dude..........we have a mutual defense treaty. Which include the islands. They already picked sides.”
But yeah, as to Japan's reputation in the larger Asian world, it's my understanding that they are essentially looked at the same way most of the west still looks at Germany. Like sure, you're calm now, but we still remember when you went crazy that time. Just stay where we can see you, panty-sniffers.
