I for one use the term harvest all the time. I don't see hunting as a sport like a game. I'm out there for the food people. I do it cost effective and spend far less then I do when I pay the ridiculous prices at the store for beef. I am in tree stand country and take deer with both bow and fire arm. The thought of trying to beat a deer to death with my bare hands is ridiculous as well. Talk about unethical good lord
Even if I did manage to get my hands on one how does one kill a deer with his bare hands? do you try and break its neck? To me and my wife hunting and fishing is harvesting. We eat all that we catch or we return them. The only thing we hunt for sport is the mighty Musky and we have never killed one. To me hunting for sport would be hunting with a camera. I don't have time for that. Bow season starts here in a few weeks. Ill be in tree overlooking a small food plot. Its walking distance from house. We grow the food and they come to the harvest every year . We take only what we will eat and the rest go and make more deer. This is living in harmony with our environment.
