the sei whale is at ~37K right now in the north pacfic. ~22K in north atlantinc, and ~24K in the southern hempsphere. this from a low of 7K
in the north pacific where they take them the pre whaling estimate for number of individuals is 60K. we really need to talk about what makes something "endangered". taking 50 animals is not going to decrease the population. its grown 500% while they've been taking 50 animals per year
