As an atheist, I am opposed to my money going to religious contributions. Religious schools, arts, etc. I am also against religious institutions getting to be tax-free.

So how about this. the church has to pay taxes always and no funding can go to them or their institutions (be it a hospital, church, school) and I'll agree that we never spend money on abortions.

Here's one for you: how many of these dark money groups play the loophole game by claiming that they're social welfare fundraising groups, or whatever ridiculous stretch they employ?

I think they all do, don't they? By playing with one key word in the "law"?

I'm sure you could slap "Christian" on anything and it would be "religious" and then you'd have super-fun example like Ralph Reed, who was allegedly a religious leader but selling his Christian Coalition to the highest corporate bidder after which he'd mobilize them as an army of voters to pass some pro-corporate, anti-citizen agenda.

You know, just like Jesus would have wanted.
