Make everyone pay taxes. Why should a non-profit be exempt even if they are basically thieves, whereas hardworking business people who need the money and spend it to improve a community get taxed?
The level of abuse of charity designations is absurd. A pretty big chunk of charities are just welfare systems for their employees.
I'm also in favor of getting rid of tax write offs for charitable donations. Were the government run properly and rationally, many charities would be redundant anyways.

Agree. At one of my internships I ended up doing a lot of research into foundations. A lot of them are set up to dodge inheritance taxes,and often the heirs of the founders get cush spots at the foundations in the boards of directors that they get paid handsomely for while they can use donations from their foundation to gain political or local support for their other business interest.
