Ultimately, the government ought to be designed to help people as they are, not as they should be. Sure, there are some elements of "poor culture" that make matters worse. But the simple truth is that the poverty cycle exists. In the United States, your class is determined almost entirely by your parent's class. Economic mobility is one of the lowest in the developed world, with only the United Kingdom being worse.

Saying "Well, these poor people ought to just change everything about their lives and become exceptional human beings" isn't really a valid response. As Dharma pointed out, that is the instinctual response of the privileged class, because they've never faced any real hardship and have no f**k clue what it takes to get these opportunities when they aren't simply handed to them. Such people will harp about hard work while ignoring the fact that they've never actually worked in their lives. They don't even know what work is. There is probably nothing worse than a person who doesn't realize the incredible advantages they have been given - I would never be so arrogant to presume that I understand the plight of those people who are born into families that have been poor for generations.

Look at how human beings develop. The first five years of your life, you are 100% dependent upon your parents. These years are absolutely formative. Many, if not most, of your predispositions, inclinations and attitudes are developed in these years - so if you have shitty parents, if your diet is terrible, if you were exposed to drugs or alcohol in the womb, if you experience violence and fear, you will probably be damaged, forever, through no fault of your own. Only a very tiny fragment of the population is able to overcome these disadvantages, and so why on earth would the government design policy around them? It makes no sense.

Eynon: so poor black men having too many kids is affecting your life how again?



Yeah, I thought so. It's fun and exciting to look down on inner-city black people, especially when you ignore the biggest welfare frauds and queens in history to do it, who have ruined this country more than those baby daddies could ever dream of.

Of course, they certainly appreciate the fact that you'd rather talk about black baby daddies because that way, our ignorant population will never clue in to the reality of who's really raping them. And so it will continue.

Eynon: what I am talking about is every minute wasted complaining about black people on welfare is a minute being diverted from the REAL welfare robbery in this country of the U.S. taxpayer.

Of course, that's exactly why the actual robber barons figured out long ago that if you want to subjugate the masses, you blow the dog whistle.

The African American problem is a shit show because it has to be fixed from within before there's anything you could do externally that would continue that fix. Of course, it probably doesn't help that when we do have somebody who comes along and revolutionizes the way black people look at themselves, we tend to shoot them.

Either way, all anybody has to remember is that some baby daddy in Detroit--whatever you think he's taking from you, Lloyd Blankfein has taken literally a million times that. Not just from you, but your kids, and their kids. Bonus: people like Lloyd own your government, freedom-lovers, whereas the best Mr. Baby Daddy can do is hope to collect some welfare from it. And the way things are going with the Blankfeins and the Kochs of the world, Mr. Baby Daddy's chance to actually vote will soon be next to impossible.

So tell me again why you want to talk about Mr. Baby Daddy?

Bonus II: yup all them black people having too many kids. I'd say contraception being freely available would certainly help, but ain't it funny? The same people who want to blow/answer the dog whistle are the ones who want to obliterate things like Planned Parenthood and contraception because it's against their "religious" beliefs. And abortion is out of the question. So they insist that unwanted kids be born, then complain about too many kids and then follow Pied Piper Paul Ryan's flute when he tries to insure that those kids receive no taxpayer money. Head, officially spinning.
